"May it happen to me as you have said."

As we fast approach the biggest holiday celebration of the year, where does our anticipation lie? There are all the "normal " Christmas places... in boxes under the sparkly tree... in the warm family reunion... in a romantic hope under the mistletoe.

But in the original Christmas play cast, the leading female character is pregnant with anticipation, even before she becomes pregnant with the very son of God. Responding to her angel messenger, the teenage Mary speaks these profound lines:

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it happen to me as you have said.”

What would it look like for you and I to be caught up in the Jesus story like Mary? To be unexpectedly commissioned for global, timeless purpose, and to respond with... well, willing anticipation? What might it lead to?

Join us this coming Saturday, November 17 for our last Bluewater Women's Breakfast Gathering of the year It will be a heartening time of both looking back and looking ahead:

  • We'll consider more about Mary's interesting attitude as we prepare our hearts and homes for a meaningful holiday.
  • We'll hear from some sisters about their journey this year since doing the Collage Workshop back in February.
  • Our worship time will also be a special time introducing simple and easy dance as a new way of expressing joy.
  • We'll do some planning for the upcoming Bluewater Christmas Concert!

We'll be meeting 8:30-10:30am at the wonderful St. Mark's Coptic Church Fellowship Hall on Alewa Heights, 1052 Ilima Drive Honolulu, HI 96817.  The steep driveway leads to ample parking on multiple levels. The lovely, air-conditioned Fellowship Hall is adjacent to the sanctuary.

Bring a dish to share and yourself just as you are. Please email bluewaterwomen@bluewatermission.org for more information.

Looking forward to a beautiful time together!
Sonya, Joannie and Sandy

*Last month we had such a wonderful time together, meeting at Clarissa Smith's condo community room! Here's a picture of us listening to Joannie teach on the word "FIGHT".
